Celebrated every February 14 – Saint Valentine, Roman Priest and Physician, was purported to have chosen love over war and hate. He healed the daughter of his jailer from blindness and befriended her.

Saint Valentine was also said to have secretly married couples in order to prevent men from going to war.

Though Valentine’s Day has been romanticized – and somewhat commercialized, it has become an opportunity for people all over the world to celebrate love.

This year at New Hall International School Lekki, we join people all over the world to commemorate Valentine’s Day. All pupils were asked to exchange gifts and talk about the importance of sharing as a way of expressing love.
